| MARCHING BAND The Marching Band is the most
visible, and arguably the most important unit of the band program
in that it creates a positive and effective image for the community
to see. The band is largely "corps-style", which means that
it moderately follows the trend of the drum and bugle corps (DCI).
Performances include entertainment in the form of stands tunes and
half-time shows at football games. What most people don't know about
the marching band is that it participates in state-wide marching band
contests throughout the fall semester. For the past three years, the
Pride has placed among the top twelve at Louisiana Showcase of Marching
Bands, which is the competition with the highest acclaim in Louisiana. |
